MAYA 2026 – Our Fundraiser Production
Continuing the journey from KAYA to MAYA — Building sustainable careers in Classical Dance.
On 9 April 2026, Junoon returns with MAYA, our second full-scale production following KAYA (September 2025). With KAYA, we marked the emergence of Junoon as a structured production house. With MAYA, we continue strengthening this model and building a sustained performance ecosystem that creates real employability pathways for our dancers.
MAYA is a fundraiser production supporting advanced professional training for senior students at The Junoon Academy, Dhasa, Gujarat.
In Dhasa, opportunities for girls and women were limited, and much of their talent remained unseen behind social hesitation and restricted access. Yet beneath these boundaries lived a strong and unmistakable desire to learn and express, a quiet determination among students that inspired Junoon to patiently enter the cultural fabric of the town, build trust, and gradually nurture acceptance within families and the wider community. Over time, doubt transformed into pride, performances evolved into platforms, and hesitant girls emerged as confident leaders, as Dance grew into a powerful pathway of empowerment, independence, and lasting change.
For nearly five years, we have built a structured, four-level Classical Dance training ecosystem in rural Saurashtra, rooted in rigour, continuity, and long-term artistic growth. Our senior students are now transitioning from serious training into professional practice, mentoring their juniors while preparing to enter the performance industry with skill and dignity.
As a growing production house, each successive production, from KAYA to MAYA is designed not only as an artistic presentation, but as a professional platform that strengthens visibility, credibility, and sustainable careers.
Your contribution directly sustains:
